History of Volkswagen.
Volkswagen company started in the year 1937 in headquarters Wolfsburg, Germany. The main purpose of starting it was to reduce the prices of the people’s car in the world. It is leading in producing the passenger car segment with 9.8MM sales. The following year the name was changed to Volswagenwerk GmbH. Before the 2nd world war began in 1939 Ferdinand Porsche design the first people’s car or Volkswagen. During the 2nd world war, Volkswagen was used to produce military vehicles to go for the fighting. At that time more than 20,000 American was working at Volkswagen plant in different capacities such as aircraft repair and building rockets. During the war, the company focuses on the manufacturing of armaments instead of cars.
In 1945 towards the end of world war II, the British military took over the Volkswagen plant and Volkswagen type 1 Beetle begun. In 1948 German introduces the Volkswagen Type 2 van, pickup, and camper and Karmann Ghia sports car.
